Designations checked by a person
A person on our team checks every examiner's designation before their booking page goes live. We never show a designation as verified because of what someone typed.
Encrypted, scanned documents
Files are encrypted on the way to us, and DPE Portal encrypts each one again before it's stored, so our storage provider only holds encrypted copies. Every file is scanned for viruses before anyone can open it, and download links stop working after two minutes.
Payments handled by a certified processor
Card details go straight to a PCI DSS Level 1 payment provider. DPE Portal never stores card numbers.
Records that can’t be rewritten
Outcomes and activity are append-only. Corrections are added as new entries with a timestamp, so the history stays intact.
Who can open documents
The examiner, the applicant, the recommending instructor on the ride, and a flight school only if the applicant shares the ride with it. On airline checks, the training department and the assigned designee. Every opening is recorded, and the examiner and applicant can both see who opened what.
No passwords
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email or a verified phone. Examiners, designees, school and airline admins, and our staff also use two-step verification with an authenticator app, and are signed out after 3 days without use. Schools and airlines get role-based access.
Removing a file
An examiner can remove a file that shouldn't be there. It's deleted from storage, and the ride's history notes who removed it and why. Otherwise, documents stay with the ride for as long as the examiner keeps that record.
Medical certificates
Your examiner needs the certificate itself, not your medical history. Please don't upload medical records or the BasicMed examination checklist. DPE Portal isn't a healthcare provider and doesn't keep medical records.
Privacy summary
We collect what's needed to book and run a checkride: contact details, the documents you upload, payment details processed by our payment provider, and the ride's schedule and outcome. A ride's documents are shared only with the examiner, the recommending instructor, and a school if you choose to share the ride with it. You can request a copy or deletion of your data at any time, subject to records an examiner is required to keep.
